Smells so bad

When I first opened this mask up I was surprised by how strong the fragrance was. It wasn't until I rinsed it off my face that I understood WHY they had to use so much fragrance. Something in this mask smells truly awful, like decay and death. The fragrance is there to mask it. Performance-wise, it's fine- no better than any other clay-based mask I've tried, though for the price, I can't see myself buying this one again. If the smell wasn't so godawful and if it didn't LINGER after rinsing and then re-washing my face, I might give it another shot, but nah. Not a winner.

I bought a few of these on a whim in addition to the seaweed travel kit, and was I impressed with the results! I can't say I care much for the scent, as it seems a little awkward, but the results are amazing, especially when used with the other seaweed products. My face was so velvety smooth and pore-less (literally pore-less) into the next day. I really do love and enjoy this product! Also, there seems to be enough of the mask in one package to get two uses out of it! :)

The Smell...

I usually give products a few weeks before I review them. But this one I knew I would never purchase again for one reason: Its unfortunate scent. I'd go as far as to say, when I spread this on my face, I caught hints of barnyard and chicken manure (trust me, I know) under the overpowering perfume they tried mask it with. Perhaps a little too natural, maybe I got a bad package, but I regret not sniff-testing it first before I rubbed it into my skin.

The consistency is nice and thick and a bit dry - I mixed it with a bit of water. The color is a natural brown with flecks of seaweed. I love that it's not a crazy unnatural color like other clay masks I've used, but that didn't help with my first impression. I can't handle the scent long enough to find out if it's effective.

I love this single use version of this product! it is perfect for traveling and takes up very little space in my cosmetic bag. I got two uses out of this pouch, so it is worth the money!
